We are Still Here!

We are still here!  Life has been exceedingly busy around here.

Highlights (or lowlights)

Greg has been ripping up our "lovely" blue carpet from the dining/living room and replacing it with hardwood floors.  It looks immensely better.  We are using the same flooring we put in our bedroom in MS from Home Depot.

I worked at our local ginormous (translation~really, really big) childrens consignment sale 4 different days and Greg worked with me on 2 of them.  We got enough credits to get all the grand young'uns loads of clothes.  Cost to us was about $26.

We did an IKEA trip with Andy and AmyKate to look around and eat lunch.

Helped Mom clean some stuff out.  She is about to put her house on the market.

Our little Aiden turns a year old tomorrow!  Can't believe is been a year!

And our `next little blessing, Alvin, will arrive in the next couple of weeks.

We are going to enter the local fair next month.  We've got some stuff that we were going to enter in Miss., so we're kind of ready for it!

Amy and I had our first crafting day, today.  Its been months since we had all day to work together.  Just needed Angel here to make the day complete.

Greg set our stupid rooster free last week.  The rooster had a terrible, possessive attitude over our chicken coop.  He didn't want us anywhere near the coop.  He had to go.  He was set free about 50 miles from here.

Greg fulfilled one of his farmer dreams....and is now the proud owner of a tractor.

The weather has cooled off a little.  And we've had some torrential rain storms.

Ready for football season to start~

Bye till I turn on the laptop again!

Goings On!

Good grief, it is hot.  I am getting weary of hot days and so ready for cooler fall temperatures!  I am missing the pool.

We planted a fall garden and will see what comes up ~ and what the deer leave alone.  We did plant more green beans, some zuchinni & yellow squash, and pumpkins.

School starts in our county tomorrow and I know more will be started by Thursday and Friday.  We've been able to take advantage of some great back to school deals at Staples and Office Depot and get stuff for our shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child.

This past weekend, Greg, Amy and I drove back to Miss. for the closing on a trailer we owned ~ yippee, its sold!  Then we drove to Hattiesburg to meet her young man and his parents for dinner ~ we sat there for well over 2 hours, visiting, eating & enjoying the fellowship.  Sat., Amy and Austin drove around meeting some of his relatives, eating lunch and seeing a movie.  Greg and I had a great lunch visit with some friends down there and then went over to his parents house and spent the afternoon.  Again, great fellowship and laughter.

We joined a church here in GA a couple of weeks ago, and joined the choir also.  Its fun to be praising the Lord with other believers.  Christmas music starts soon!  There are about 40 in the choir and they have an orchestra.  We've found a Sunday School class we like,  This church also has a Sunday night service and a Wed. night service.

We have gotten to the stage in some of our rooms of being able to hang pictures!  Gregs got the bathroom painted, the cabinet hung above the potty, a shelf hung for my essential oils, pictures hung and our towel bars are hung!  The sewing room is getting organized but still not completely there.  I did get a small table runner done from a kit I purchased 2 years ago in New York.  The laundry room has 2 shelves now, so that room is getting organized too.  My clothes line is quite near the driveway door so its very convenient to use.  And that hot weather that I am tired of, does do a good job at drying our clothes.  We've go to decide on flooring for the living room, dining area and kitchen ~ and also decide what to do about the kitchen cabinets (sorry major big box chainstore, we are not paying $27,000 for you to resurface our cabinets and hang new doors ~ and yes, that is an actual quote we were given!). Greg is at a woodworking class, learning how to make cabinet doors ~ I am willing to bet, he can do it for much less that 27,000!

James is really liking being at Caterpillar.  He has trained at 4 different stations on the line now ~ every bit of his training and accomplishing these tasks makes him a more valuable employee.  He seems to be doing fine with the odd hours 5pm to 3:30am.  Its been just 4 days a week, but this week will add in Fridays and possibly Sat.

One of the first things we did when we moved, was get new library cards.  The library has an awesome program where you can link your kindle up to a site and access 1000's of books for free! I couldn't get my kindle to connect, so we went back on Thursday and a librarian up there got mine and Gregs connected.  Since we got this great, new venue for free books, we did cancel our prime unlimited book subscription with Amazon.

Thomas got the ball!

Robert & Thomas

I've been looking for an easy to use bubble gun to blow bubbles for my little grand buddies.  Because, quite frankly...I can get really dizzy blowing them the old fashioned way!  I found a cute gun at JoAnns for $5.99 and then got 2 hge bottles of bubbles for $2.50 each ~ $10 for lots of grins, laughter and bubble chasing!  The top pictures were taken by cousin Sarah at the Lake in Virginia ~ I got these from her facebook post.

I Can't Even Imagine

21 years ago, my daddy died after a very short (6 months) battle with lymphoma.  He was young....just 59 ~ 1 month short of his 60th birthday.

So back to the title ~

I can't even imagine my daddy being 81 years old ~ which is what he would be tomorrow.  OK, I can't even imagine 65, 70, or 75 either.  I also can't imagine ~ how our lives would be different with him here, or how he would have loved his granddaughters (Amy was born almost 2 years after he died, or if circumstances surrounding one of my children could have been different, or watching him with 3 tiny great grandboys, or watching him & mom grow old together.

The Lord had another plan for Daddy and for us.

But no matter how much time passes ~ there are 3 Cash girls that miss him bunches, there are 4 grandsons who remember the fishing, hiking, camping at Bills lake fun they were blessed with, there are 8 additional grand children and 3 great grandchildren who know Grand daddy Bill through the stories they hear.

I can't imagine!

Happy Birthday & love you Daddy!

Farmin' Shots

I was going to name our rooster Foghorn but I've now changed it to Big Mouth!
He loves to hear himself "Cock A Doodle Do"

Pears!

Lots of Blueberries!

I love hydrangeas!  Especially lavender!

Kitty ~ she came with the farm!

Pumpkins!

Corn

We've harvested lots of squash from just 10 or 12 plants.

The plowing next door....I think his wife sends him out to ride his tractor when she wants him
out of the house....he never planted anything but just rides around the field.

Family Fun

We've just spent a great 1 1/2 weeks serving, laughing, eating, watching, loving, listening, observing, and worshipping.

We left Friday, June 26 and started our 2 days driving excursion to Buffalo, New York.  We served with 40+ other folks on a Mission Trip up there.  The main focus of the trip was backyard bible clubs and neighborhood bashes in Albion, NY.

Greg and I were the cooks.  Amy, Will, and my niece and nephew, Bethany & Ben worked on different teams and had a wonderful time.

We cooked tons of food, fed lots of people, washed lots of dishes, and had a blast.  I missed last year because James had emergency mouth surgery.

We reconnected with friends up there....we visited the Amish stores about 15 minutes away...we visited Niagara Falls...had some interesting conversations with young people.

Then we drove back to Gregs parents home near Roanoke VA and spent the weekend with them, Katie, Bryant and the boys, Gregs cousin and his family, Gregs sister and her family.

The kids rode jetskis, Ben & Bethany learned how to water ski, ate more food, watched fireworks, fed fish, and got lots of sun.

I was in grandma heaven!  We read books, played with bubbles, took boat rides if PaPa, took tons of pictures, played with puzzles, and loved on sleeping babies.  The only thing that would have made if more perfect, would have been if Aiden was there also.

Now to real life ~~~~~ unpacking more boxes, straightening up, figuring out where to put everything, and more straightening up.  I will start out the day by not getting up at 6:15!

Home Sweet Home!
