Daybook ~ first for 2012

For today.....

Outside my window ~ the cold is back, mid 20's last night, highs of mid 40's today
Quite a change from our 70 degree temps on Friday & Saturday

I am thinking...about simplicity, simplifying, concentrating on the important

I am thankful for...a loving family

From the kitchen...roast, carrots, rice, gravy, green beans

From the learning rooms...school lessons start back today

I am wearing...denim skirt, red sweater

I am creating...hand embroidering some kitchen towels for hope chests & wedding showers this year

I am going...to keep my eyes open and notice where the Lord is working around me

I am reading..."The Christmas Bride" by Grace Livingston Hill, the few remaining books of the Old Testament, a devotional book on Joy, a quilting How To book

I am hoping praying...for the Lord to be glorified on our Honduras mission trip this month, for all the details to be in place, for a safe trip for the whole team, for people who will hear the Gospel for the first time

I am hearing...fingers typing, cars driving, the dishwasher getting cleaned out, heater humming

Around the house...watching puppies, organizing, reading, crafting, schoolwork, puzzle constructing

One of my favorite things....Greg's days off

A few plans for the rest of the week...Bible study, visits from 2 families adopting our little girl puppies, planning for mission trip, general household chores, crafting

Verse to share..."There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit, There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord, there are differnt kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

The Lord has blessed all of us with different gifts or blessings or capabilities, we just need to be open to how He wants to glorify Himself through us.

Welcome to the farm ~ we are a blended family with 7 children (3 are married), 4 grandsons, 5 dogs, 3 rabbits, and 15 chickens living on 3 acres in Georgia. I love crafting, sewing, cooking & canning, recipes of all kinds, reading, playing with my little buddies, family time, travel, pinterest and most of all the Lord.
