Its Bible Drill Time!

For the last 4 years, Amy & Will have participated in Bible Drill at our church.  This will be their last year as both are graduating.  I know how much hard work goes into learning the material and practicing.  From Jan. to the present ~ Bible Drill work becomes part of their school day.  Last night was the Church Drill ~ held in front of everyone in the sanctuary ~ the kids say this is the hardest drill because they know everyone (its easier in front of strangers).  They all did AWESOME!  All of our Youth are going on to the Associational Drill today!

Material they learned this year included ~
Quotation~The caller says the verse & they have to quote the referenced Scripture
Genesis 12:3
Exodus 4:11-12
Deuteronomy 4:7
Job 19:25
Psalm 23:1-3
Proverbs 20:1
Matthew 1:18
Luke 6:31-33
John 8:31-32
John 14:6
Acts 2:21
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
Hebrews 10:16
1John 1:9

Key Passages~the caller says the Title, the student has to remember the reference and find it
Joseph Flees Immoratlity (Genesis 39:1-20)
Walls of Jericho Fall  (Joshua 6)
God speaks to the boy Samuel (1 Samuel 3)
Esther Approaches the King (Esther 5:1-8)
The Psalm of Praise (Psalm 100)
The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7)
The Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
The Birth of Jesus (Luke 2:1-7)
Jesus and Nicodemus (John 3:1-21)
The Love Chapter (1 Corinthians 13)

Bible Answers ~ student has to find the verse the questions references
Who Does the Earth Belong to? (Exodus 19:5)
Where does Knowledge begin? (Proverbs 1:7)

How are we like sheep? (Isaiah 53:6)

Where will God write His law? (Jeremiah 31:33)
What does God desire? (Hosea 6:6)
Who is the resurrection? (John 11:25)
How can I bear fruit? (John 15:5)
What is eternal life? (John 17:3)
What does God think of Marriage? (Hebrews 13:4)
Can I be forgiven?  (1John 1:9)

Scripture Search Drill~caller calls out any book of the bible and student has to quickly find it

As you can see, thats an enormous amount of knowledge for them to retain and bring forth in a Drill.
There are only 6 calls from each section, so you have to know everything because the caller can pick any 6 ~ you don't know ahead of time.

The most remarkable thing.....they have to do each call in 8 seconds or less.  Its all timed!

Great job, drillers!  And thanks to the adults who help and guide them to this accomplishment!

Here are a few pictures from last night!
