Daybook

For today~
Outside my window ~ partly sunny, 50/50 chance of more rain
The more rain the Lord sends, the less I have to water the garden and the fruit trees!

I am thinking ~ about communication and the ease of keeping up with our children via cell phones, emails, etc.
& wishing our #1 son in law a Happy Birthday

I am thankful for ~ the above mentioned communication

From the kitchen ~ homemade macaroni & cheese and vegies

I am wearing ~ denim skirt, turquoise tshirt, sandals

I am creating ~ Chicken Scratch Embroidery of a Chicken to enter in the fair, and a rag quilt for a birthday gift

I am going ~ to visit my mom!

I am reading ~ Foxfire bk2, Proverbs

I am hoping  praying ~ for salvation of family members

I am hearing ~ car engines, dogs barking, children talking, ceiling fan running, fingers typing

Around the house ~ we've become a doggie foster family, this "puppy" is a yellow lab (we think) ~ she's been to our house 3 times in the last week, she doesn't have a tag or collar or a microchip (we took her to our vet to have her scanned).  We fed her yesterday and she spent the night last night.  She is gorgeous, playful, and friendly.

One of my favorite things ~ quiet nights at home

A few plans for the rest of the week ~ Bible study, crafts, Oreo is going to the vet on Friday for his "man" surgery, finishing quilt, caring for garden & animals, bible reading & study, visiting Mom, and Greg smoking us ribs for Mothers Day!

A few pictures to share ~~~~~

Peaches we are picking today before the gluttonous squirrel eats them all ~ Amy went & picked them ~ 11 lbs.!

Licorice and her babies ~ 2 weeks old now!  Their eyes are open!
You can visit Peggy to read other daybooks ~

  1. Hey Donna,
I have a couple of questions about your Keepers at Home program. I am also from Mississippi and was wondering (1) if your group allows other moms and daughters to join and (2) do you live close to Braxton?
    Thank you for your time.
    Sincerely,
    Becky

  2. Yes, I am thankful for the rain the Lord is sending. My newly planted garden needs it (so I don't have to drag the hose out there). I too am reading Proverbs, starting chapter 15 today. Have you ever considered opening an Etsy shop for all the wonderful things you make? I would be VERY interested in the Chicken Scratch embroidery! LOL! I wish a lovey Yellow Lab would wonder up to my house. Great dogs!
I'll just bet you have some great plans for the 11 pounds of peaches! mmmmm.

  3. Becky, We are in Rankin County about 10 miles outside of Jackson. I don't know if you are anywhere near us. You can get the Keepers at Home book online at their website. There wasn't a group anywhere near us, so we started this one about 3 years ago. All the families are in our homeschool group, but joining the group is easy. Hopefully, this helps you some. If you would like, leave me a comment with your email address and we can email back & forth (I won't post the comment on the blog for your privacy). Donna

  4. Hey Monica,

Amy and I are considering an Etsy shop. We are still in the thinking stages! Thanks for the encouragement!

Welcome to the farm ~ we are a blended family with 7 children (3 are married), 4 grandsons, 5 dogs, 3 rabbits, and 15 chickens living on 3 acres in Georgia. I love crafting, sewing, cooking & canning, recipes of all kinds, reading, playing with my little buddies, family time, travel, pinterest and most of all the Lord.
