Simple Signs of Spring

I walked through the yard yesterday and this morning with the camera to capture these signs of spring here in Mississippi.  The weather is warm, the air is full of pollen, and lots of plants are coming to life after the long winter, overly long fall!

Our peach tree is covered in little tiny green peaches!

Azalea that used to be in Greg's Grandmothers yard

Iris from his grandmothers yard

tiny blueberry bush

"snowball" bush

Camilla bloom - they are gorgeous and long lasting this year

more tree blooms ~ this might be an apple tree, I can't remember

New bloom on my orchid

My Jar quilt window valance
the vanilla plant is still growing in its jar ~ bought at Disney last fall
Its exciting to start planning the garden and working outside.  But the pollen is a real drawback.  Just looking out the window you can see the yellow/green haze in the air and the "dusting" over all the roads, sidewalks, planters, etc.  But, its one of those simple signs of spring!

Here are some verses I found in Leviticus yesterday ~ a promise from God to the Israelites.

Leviticus 26:3-5
If you walk in My statues and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.  Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

What a great promise of the Lords faithfulness and provision if they/we only walk in His statues, keep His commandments and perform them.

  1. Your peaches are beauties and so are your babies Hershey and Oreo. I liked the quick tour of what's going on at your place. it's still freezing here at night. We have a few blossoms but we are expecting a hard freeze this weekend. I love orchids and Camelia. Thanks for sharing such beauty.

  2. Thanks Kathy, me too! We dug up many bulbs, blueberry bushes, azaleas and some evergreen bushes. All but one of the azaleas died and all the blueberries ~ we have lots of the iris' and 4 evergreen bushes.

  3. YOu have a lot of signs of spring! We are not that close yet. We have some daffodils, and the irises are starting to come up but have not bloomed. No fruit trees doing anything but leafing out yet. Oh how I wished I lived a little farther south...maybe in the southern ozarks...:)
