Faith & our Founding Fathers

2 Chronicles 7: 14-15
" If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
"We whose names are underwritten..having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honour of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia."
The Mayflower Compact (Nov. 11, 1620)

"Winthrop and his colleagues believed that their errand was not merely a scouting expedition: it was an essential maneuver in the drama of Christendom:  these Puritans did not flee to America;  they went in order to work out that complete reformation which was not yet accomplished in England and Europe."
Historian Perry Miller

"Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants."
William Penn

"Either you'll be governed by God, or by God you'll be governed!"
Benjamin Franklin

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ."
Patrick Henry

"We have staked the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government, far from it.  We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God"
James Madison, 4th President of the United States

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; that is tied together in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."
John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States

"God has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christan nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
John Jay, first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

"I, do profess Faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ is own Son, and in the Holy Ghose, one God blessed for evermore, and I do acknowledge the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by divine Inspiration"
State Constitution of Delaware's Oath for the House or Burgess State Assembly

" We submit our persons, lives and estates unto our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords and to all those perfect and most absolute laws of His given us in His Holy Word."
Rhode Island Charter of 1683

"Sir, we are not weak if we make proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.  The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us."  "There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us."  " Forbid it almighty God!  I know not what course others may take; but as for me, Give me liberty or give me death."
Patrick Henry

Above quotes taken from "The Second Mayflower" written by Kevin Swanson

" Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
1st Amendment ~ United States Constitution

(Note: it does not say Separation of Church and State (that phrase was in a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote years later).  It does say the Congress shall not establish a religion.)

Our great country was founded on Christian principles by Christian Men.
If you want to know the truth about the Heritage of our Nation ~ read their papers, letters, correspondences.  Do not rely on the re-written Politically Correct history books that are in the schools today.
