Wisdom from Philippians

Philippians 2:8-11 "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and give Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, ever knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Sloppy Joes

Donna's Sloppy Joes

1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion chopped
1 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder

Brown the ground beef and onion until cooked through.  Drain the grease.
Add water, ketchup and seasonings.
Cook slowly uncovered (on stovetop) for 30 minutes or until thickened.
Serve on hamburger buns.

Serves about 4.

We always double or triple this recipe when we cook it.  Whatever isn't eaten at dinnertime is refrigerated and reheated for lunches or frozen for another time.

This is sooooo much better than the canned sloppy joe stuff or the packaged mixes and used ingredients most of us already have on hand.

*If you make it with ground venison ~ you can change the name to Sloppy Does! (thanks Greg)

we always drain our ground beef in a colander to remove as much grease as possible.

Hope you enjoy the recipe and your family loves it as much as mine does!!!!!

I am sharing this recipe at Heidi's

"Hop" on over to her blog and enjoy the other goodies posted there!
